The Viking/Eurotex partnership responded to an urgent call to assist with a main engine malfunction on a US Coast Guard cutter, stationed in Hawaii.
The vessel was experiencing operational problems with its Paxman Valenta 16RP200M engines and Kevin Goldsmith, Senior Service Engineer with many years building, commissioning and operational experience, was flown over to assess the problems and correct them, in order to enable the vessel to be operationally deployed.
The engineer, with the assistance of the vessel’s engineering staff, successfully analyzed and corrected the engine problems in record time. Including trials, the vessel was returned to operational duties within two days, much to the satisfaction of the Coast Guard Engineering Authority.
As part of the Viking/Eurotex total through life support programme, this level of skilled and quality accredited activity is available to all our customers on a 365-day a year basis.
